Comment-to-DM is an Instagram automation that sends a direct message to anyone who comments a chosen keyword on your post, reel or ad. The DM goes out as a private reply through Meta's official API, so it only reaches people who commented first. Tools like ReplyRep send it about three seconds after the comment, with your link attached. ## How does comment-to-DM work? You pick a post and a keyword, such as GUIDE. When someone comments it, Instagram notifies the tool, and the tool sends that person one DM as a [private reply](https://replyrep.io/glossary/private-reply). Comments without the keyword are left alone. The link arrives in a private thread where they can tap it straight away.
