How does a global trigger work?
A normal keyword trigger belongs to one post. A global trigger belongs to the account. You set the keyword and the reply once, and it listens on every post, reel, story and DM, including the ones you post next month. Each comment still gets a single private reply, as Meta allows.
| Post keyword | Global trigger | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it listens | One post or reel | Every post, reel, story and DM |
| New posts | Set up per post | Covered automatically |
| Best for | Launches, giveaways, one-off freebies | Questions people ask everywhere |
| Limit in ReplyRep | Unlimited on every plan | Free 5, Lite 20, Boost 50, MAX 500 |
What is a good example of a global trigger?
DM
Here's the size chart for everything we make: yourbrand.com/sizes. Tell me your usual size and the item, and I'll check the fit.
Other words that work well as global triggers: SHIPPING, RESTOCK, DISCOUNT, BOOK and HOURS. They are the questions that turn up under every post, whatever it is about.
Why do global triggers matter?
Old posts keep getting comments long after you stop watching them. Without a global trigger, a "shipping?" comment on a post from last spring waits for you to notice it, or never gets answered. With one, it gets the same answer as a comment on today's reel.
How does ReplyRep handle global triggers?
Global Triggers are on every plan, per account: Free 5, Lite 20, Boost 50, MAX 500. Default Triggers and AI-generated triggers are on every plan too, so you can let AI suggest keywords and keep the ones you like. See global keyword triggers for the feature, and the best Instagram comment keywords for word ideas.
