How does a keyword trigger work?
You attach a keyword to a post, reel, story or your DMs, and write the reply. When a comment or message contains the keyword, the automation sends the DM. Comments without it are ignored, so normal conversation under your post stays untouched. Each matching comment gets one private reply, the most Meta allows until the person responds.
What are good keyword trigger examples?
| Keyword | Caption call to action | What the DM sends |
|---|---|---|
| GUIDE | Comment GUIDE for the free guide | The download link |
| PRICE | Comment PRICE for details | Price, link and shipping time |
| BOOK | Comment BOOK to grab a slot | Your booking page |
| CODE | Comment CODE for 10% off | A discount code and shop link |
How do you choose a good keyword?
- One short word, easy to type on a phone.
- Unusual enough that people won't type it by accident. "YES" or "LOVE" fire on ordinary comments.
- Written in capitals in the caption, so it is obvious what to comment.
- Different for each offer, so every keyword maps to exactly one DM.
How does ReplyRep handle keyword triggers?
Keywords on a single post are unlimited on every plan, and you can set them before a post is published. Global triggers work account-wide (Free 5, Lite 20, Boost 50, MAX 500). AI-generated triggers suggest keywords for a post. See comment-to-DM, global keyword triggers and the best Instagram comment keywords.
