What makes an auto DM work

  • One clear keyword. Short, all caps, easy to type on a phone: LINK, GUIDE, CODE. See the best comment keywords.
  • Deliver first, ask second. Put the link in the first message. Questions and upsells come after they have what they asked for.
  • Sound like you. Use their first name and the words you use in captions. The generator gives you a draft; edit it into your voice.
  • One follow up, not five. A single check-in a day later catches people who got distracted. More than that starts to feel like spam.

Turning the draft into a live automation

  1. 1

Put the call to action in your caption

Tell people exactly what to comment and what they get.

  2. 2

    Create the automation

In ReplyRep, pick the post, add the keyword and paste the DM. Comment Auto Reply posts the public reply for you.

  3. 3

    Test it

Comment the keyword on your own post from another account and check the DM lands.
